<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent breakage of an optical head by eliminating dust stuck to the surface of an optical disk and to reduce a manufacturing cost in near-field optical recording and reproduction. <P>SOLUTION: When a near-field optical head 3 is arranged so as to be close to the optical disk 5, near-field light by laser beams is condensed to the optical disk 5, a static pressure floating pad 4 is used to control a gap from the optical disk 5, an actuator 12-1 subsequently moves the near-field optical head 3 to a position close to the optical disk 5 and near-field light is used to record or reproduce information on/from the optical disk, a dust collecting/blowing away part 14 for absorbing and/or blowing away dust on the optical disk 5 with air is arranged in the vicinity of the near-field optical head 3 before recording or reproducing the information. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
