<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcement method by which a variation in an optical characteristic of an optical fiber component can be suppressed and the optical fiber component can be fixed to a reinforcing member at a low cost, as a method for fixing the optical fiber component to the reinforcing member. <P>SOLUTION: An open optical fiber 5 of the optical fiber component 4 is fused by heating a fixing part 3 by using the optical fiber component reinforcing member 1 having a melting point lower than quartz glass and consisting of a material of which the linear expansion coefficient is almost equal to that of quartz glass. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
