PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotating electric motor and that for an electric power steering capable of reducing hysteresis loss for a reduced loss torque, by devising a stacking method of electromagnetic steel plates when the electromagnetic steel plates of high magnetic anisotropy are used. SOLUTION: The rotating electric motor comprises a stator core 2 where a ring core pieces 2a formed with an electromagnetic steel plate are laminated. The electromagnetic steel plate has been rolled to provide electromagnetic anisotropy, with the rolling direction of the core piece 2a different from those of upper and lower core pieces 2a by 90°. With this configuration, the hysteresis loss is reduced to reduce the loss torque of the rotary electric motor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
