PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo motor control device which is set in an operation-prohibited state before an instruction value is changed when reaching a target position for preventing hunting, releases the operation-prohibited state and forcibly sets an operational state without giving any new instruction value. SOLUTION: When it is detected by a comparison circuit 70 that a position to be controlled reaches the target position, an operation prohibition signal generation unit 71 supplies an operation prohibition signal 71a to an operation permission/prohibition signal processing unit 66 to set an H bridge driving unit 67 to control the operation of a motor to be in an operation prohibition state. An LIN communication processing unit 61 receives information to the self address to be supplied from an upper rank device, and outputs a forcible operation (recovery) request 61R in the received information. The H bridge driving unit 67 is set in an operational state via an operation permission trigger signal generation unit 65 and the operation permission/prohibition signal processing unit 66.
