PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass substrate nearly free from generation of burning and suitable for a liquid crystal display panel. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display panel 100 is provided with a front plate glass 111 consisting of soda glass by a float process, a rear plate glass 112 disposed at an interval of e.g. 0.1 to 0.2 mm from the front plate glass 111 so that a liquid crystal part 104 is encapsulated between the front plate glass 111 and the rear plate glass 112 and a display electrode 113 having a pattern on the inner surface of the front plate glass 111. In the front plate glass 111, the deeper the depth from the surface of its bottom surface is made, the lower the concentration of tin oxide is made, and the concentration of tin oxide in the range where the depth from the bottom surface is shallower than 3μm is 1% by mass or more.
