SZ SLOT AND OPTICAL FIBER CABLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an SZ slot type optical cable in which maximum distortion in the longitudinal direction of a tape core wire stored in an SZ slot is suppressed to a minimum and optical loss is made small. SOLUTION: The SZ slot is made of a tension member and a resin slot layer in which spiral grooves that are equal to or greater than one line and formed on the tension member in the SZ direction and the spiral grooves draw approximately sine wave loci. When the loci of the spiral grooves are to be Fourier expanded, third higher harmonics components are included in an appropriate ratio so that maximum distortion in the longitudinal direction of the tape core wire stored in the spiral grooves is suppressed to a minimum.
