PURPOSE: To provide a method for reducing nitrogen in nitrate solution, which is able to remove nitrate nitrogen and also effectively remove ammonia nitrogen that is a side product of a reduction-denitrification of nitrates and amide nitrogen generated from amide. CONSTITUTION: In a method for reducing nitrogen in nitrate solution comprising a step of treating the nitrate solution with metals and amide to perform a reduction-denitrification of nitrate nitrogen, the method further comprises a step of treating an aqueous solution obtained from the above step with a halogen-based oxidizing agent to perform an oxidation-denitrification of ammonia nitrogen and amide nitrogen.
