CONDUCTOR CONNECTION WITH PTC ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of contacts and the cost by mounting PTC elements in a U-shaped top end terminal of a first plate-like conductor combined with a second plate-like conductor having a flat plate-like terminal at the top end and inserting this flat plate-like terminal between the PTC element. SOLUTION: A metal plate is punched by dies to form a pair of plate-like conductors having desired shapes. A U-shaped terminal 11 is formed by bending the top end of the conductor 10 like a U-letter and a flat plate-like terminal 21 is formed by bending the top end of the conductor 20 so as to locate this end at nearly the center of the terminal 11. Two PTC elements 30, 40 are laminated and mounted in the U-shaped terminal 11 and the plate terminal 21 is inserted between the elements 3, 40. The U-shaped terminal 11A is composed of a pair of contacts 11b, 11c and coupling 11d continuous to these contacts, the coupling 11d being curved.
