An automatic tap 1, characterized in that it is formed by a presence sensor 2 for emitting brief pulses of infrared radiation, by a flip-flop-type electrovalve and a rechargeable storage battery or cell supplied by solar or photovoltaic cells 3 which provide the assembly with energy. All the aforesaid may be incorporated into the body of the tap, as in Figure 1, or be installed away from this site, operating autonomously without the need for the mains supply. The detector 2 causes the tap to operate when a body comes into its radius of action. It allows combination with other systems for regulating temperature or liquid flow rate. Water inlet 5. Tube 7.
