First (42) and second (44) parts are molded, at least one of them in a process which produces a heated molding. Both parts are brought into contact (48) with each other and the residual heat from the one part is used to join both parts together to form a single product (40). Connection between the parts can be effected by interlinking of molecular chains and/or van der Waal forces and/or hydrogen bridge formation. First (42) and second (44) parts are molded, at least one of them in a process which produces a heated molding. One or more parts (42,44) of the product are injection molded. Contact between the parts may be achieved either with or without tension or pressure. Both parts may be located in a closed tool for joining. No external heat energy is supplied during the joining stage. Mechanical connection may be used in addition to the heat bonding. The contact or connecting area (48) of at least one of the parts is at not less than45[deg]C either on contact and/or during the whole joining process. An independent claim is included for a two part container (40) produced by the claimed process, the container comprising either a mouth section (42) and a shell (44) or a twin walled container. |
