PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and efficiently execute KANJI (Chinese character)/equivalent KANA (Japanese syllabary) conversion even in the case of executing the conversion especially by the use of an external information data base in addition to an input from a keyboard. SOLUTION: A primary retrieving means 21 in a data processor 2 retrieves a word or a phrase corresponding to an input character string inputted from an input device by the use of a KANJI/equivalent KANA dictionary storing part 31 as a primary retrieval process. When the retrieval of the means 21 succeeds, a retrieved character string judging means 23 deletes a character string having succeeded in primary retrieval and calculates a remaining character string. The retrieval of the 1st input character string by the means 21 is failed, a remaining character string is calculated by omitting one character from the original input character string and applied to a secondary retrieving means 22. In a secondary retrieval procesing, the means 22 retrieves a word or a phrase corresponding to the applied remaining character string. When a character string to be retrieved disappears by the repeat of retrieval, equivalent KANA characters having succeeded in retrieval and stored in an equivalent KANA storing part 3 are displayed on an output device 4 and printed out. |
