PURPOSE: A method of preparing an elastic long and short complex core yarn using a filament potential crimped yarn is provided with reduced dye processing failure by removing the reduction in the elasticity. CONSTITUTION: An elastic long and short complex core yarn is prepared by using a filament potential crimped yarn as a core yarn, wherein the thickness of the mono denier is 1-5de, and the total denier thickness is 30-150de. A short fiber spun yarn is used as an effect yarn. The core yarn is twisted by 300-1500 TPM such that the total count of the core yarn is in the NE count of 10-50. The ratio of the potential crimped yarn to the short fiber spun yarn is 10-30%.
