PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and economically pick up the images of both the front and rear surfaces of a plate-shaped body to be inspected, the entire surface of a polyhedron, or the appearance of a plurality of surfaces requiring inspection with less number of cameras. SOLUTION: This visual inspection method retains a target 1 with a carrying means 10 and moves it at an image pick-up region by a line sensor camera 2, picks up the images of a plurality of surfaces A of the inspection target 1 successively by the line sensor camera 2, and compares the image of the picked up inspection target 1 with a pre-registered reference image, thus judging to see if the surface A of the inspection target 1 is conforming or not. |
