PURPOSE: A solenoid valve for a fountain is provided to avoid abrasions due to a repeated stress by coating a shock-absorbing materials onto a valve seat, and to relieve stress concentration by providing an interface portion which has a sectional areas gradually increased toward an upper end of a plunger. CONSTITUTION: The solenoid valve for a fountain includes a valve body(13) formed with an inlet and outlet(11,12), a valve seat(14) housed within the valve body so as to open/close the inlet and outlet, a plunger(16) having a lower end elastically supported on the valve seat via a spring(15). The plunger has an upper end inserted into a solenoid coil(17) which is electrically connected to the exterior power source. An interface portion(16a) between the upper end and lower end of the plunger connected to each other has a sectional areas which is gradually increased toward the upper end, so as to relieve the stress concentration.
