<p>Preparation of a benzofuran derivative (I) comprises reacting a compound (II) with a heterocyclic compound (III). Preparation of a benzofuran derivative of formula (I) comprises reacting a compound of formula (II) with a heterocyclic compound of formula (III), [Image] R 1>, R 2>H, hydrocarbon or hetero ring all optionally substituted; R 1>+R 2>together with neighboring carbon atoms and substituents can form a 3-8 membered ring or hetero ring; Y : halo; A : other Y, optionally substituted benzene ring; B : optionally substituted benzene ring; W : (i) or (ii); C : optionally substituted benzene ring; D : halo, hydrocarbon, or 5-7 membered hetero ring all optionally substituted; R 3>H, can be substituted by optionally substituted aromatic group, acyl containing optionally substituted aromatic group; R 4>H, optionally substituted hydrocarbon or acyl; and R 3>+R 4>together with the neighboring N and substituents can form 4-8 membered optionally substituted hetero ring. Independent claims are also included for: (1) 2-methyl-1-(4-methylphenyl)-2-(2,3,5-trimethylphenoxy)-1-propanone; (2) 2-methyl-1-(4-methylphenyl)-2-(2,3,5-trimethylphenoxy)-1-propanonol; (3) 5-bromo-2,2,4,6,7-pentamethyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran; and (4) N-benzyl-2,2,4,6,7-pentamethyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-2,3-dihydro-1-benzofuran-5-amine.</p> |
