WASHING MACHINE REDUCING MANUFACTURING COST AND IMPROVING CORROSION RESISTANCE BY USING CARBON STEEL

PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to cut down the manufacturing cost of the washing machine by making the upper shaft or the hollow shaft of carbon steel instead of stainless steel, and to improve abrasion resistance and corrosion resistance by treating the surface of carbon steel with NICO-BF process. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine is composed of a water tub(11) storing washing water; a rotating tub(12) rotated and installed in the water tub; a pulsator(13) rotated and installed in the lower part of the rotating tub; a driving motor rotating the pulsator and the rotating tub by generating driving force; an upper shaft(22a) connected to the rotating tub; a lower shaft arranged in a line with the upper shaft and connected to power of the driving motor; and a hollow shaft(22d) rotated and installed outside the upper shaft and the lower shaft and connected to the pulsator. The surface of the upper shaft or the hollow shaft is treated by NICO-BF process, and the upper shaft or the hollow shaft is made of carbon steel.
