A face recognition system which stores a plurality of images, each image having an associated age, that of the subject of the image. When the system is processing an input image in order to recognise a face therein, it calculates a confidence measure depending on the age gap between the subject in the stored image and the subject in the input image. If the system determines that the reliability of a match is not sufficiently high then the user of the system is warned. |
