A suspender system includes a pair of suspenders for holding work trousers. At the front end of each suspender strap is a patch of the hook component of a hook and loop fastener. A similar patch of hook component is found at t he back end of each strap. The waistband of a pair of trousers has the mating loop component of the fastener stitched to its inside. The suspenders are therefo re attached to the trousers without the use of conventional metal clips, which can damage surrounding objects which they contact and can damage and deform the trouser waistband.
