PURPOSE: A method for processing a contrast ratio in an infrared thermal imaging system is provided to differently process a texture region and a background region and process the contrast ratio. CONSTITUTION: A texture region and a uniform background region are separated from the histogram distribution of a digital image signal inputted to an image processing unit through an analog/digital converting unit(S210,S220). A contrast ratio of the separated texture region is processed(S230,S240). A histogram of the entire image is synthesized with a histogram of the texture region(S250).
