The splicing cassette has carrier shells (2) for each pair of spliced glass fibres contained within a housing (3) provided with a carrier, supporting the carrier shells for relative rotation. The carrier shells are contained within at least two adjacent compartments and stacked one on top of the other, each rotated about one side edge until reaching a ratchet position. Each carrier shell may be provided with grip recesses.
