PURPOSE: To provide a method for treating wastewater by decomposing microorganisms to simply eliminate odor from a wastewater way and treat wastewater in the sufficiently clean state without formation of malodor or sediment such as waste oil in the wastewater way, and a device that is used in the method and can be miniaturized to a relatively small structure. CONSTITUTION: The device for mixing wastewater treating agent comprises a sediment layer of mineral particles(3) containing aluminum hydroxide, the sediment layer is installed under the surface of water contained in a container(2) to which a water supply pipe(1) is connected; an air diffusion member(5) installed at the lower side of the sediment layer; a compressed air supply pipe(14) connected to the air diffusion member; and a wastewater treating agent mixing pipeline(6) for supplying water into which powder phase wastewater treating agent produced by friction of the mineral particles is dispersed to treated water that is at the outside of the container when the mineral particles are vibrated by air bubble stream discharged into water from the air diffusion member.
