PURPOSE: A system and a method for detecting data removal and recovering data are provided to recover the damaged data and prevent the data from removing by storing file contents or information needed for file recovery in a log file or a storing area through the real-time detection of a remove file, or storing entire file system or a part of file system information in the log file through periodical backup. CONSTITUTION: A file removal detector (101) stores the file information in a file removal detecting log file(110) by detecting the removed file in real-time. A file removal preventer(102) prevents that the file or a folder fixed by the user is removed. A multi-user processor(103) makes the file removal detector operated in order of user's request if multiple users concurrently request the file removal on a Unix OS(Operating System). A file system recognizer(104) discriminates that the removed file is included in which file system. A lower level file I/O(Input/Output)(105) supports a function for the I/O operation to store the removed file information in the file removal detecting log file. A queue manager(106) makes each file information stored in a FIFO(First Input First Output) method.
