PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To introduce a remote monitor system at a low cost. SOLUTION: The remote monitor system 1 consists of a lighting device 10, a home server 20, a center server 40, a terminal 50, and an ISP 30 connecting the terminal 50 from the home server 20 via the center server 40. The lighting device 10 and the home server 20 are connected via a local wireless communication network 11a using a specific small power radio for example. The lighting device 10 includes a human body detection sensor 12, a camera 13 and a remote control unit 14. When the sensor 12 detects an unauthorized intruder or the like, character information indicating the detection is created in a control unit 15. An image of the intruder or the like is picked up by the camera 13 and encrypted in the control unit 15, and the character information is sent to the home server 20 prior to the image. Since the lighting device 10 and the home server 20 incorporate a device for wireless communication, the remote monitor system 1 can be introduced at a low cost without any additional wiring work or the like.
