PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably perform cleaning operations using a small-size nozzle and a floor nozzle respective nozzles by detachably connecting respective nozzles to each other. SOLUTION: This suction device for a vacuum cleaner is provided with the floor nozzle 11 and the small-size nozzle 10 detachably mounted on the floor nozzle 11, the floor nozzle 11 has a small-size nozzle storage recess part 26 having an approximately same depth with the height dimension of the small-size nozzle 10 in its upper surface part, the small-size nozzle 10 is mounted on the storage recess part 26, and the floor surface is cleaned by using the floor nozzle 11. In a state of detaching the small-size nozzle 10 from the floor nozzle 11, the small-size nozzle 10 can clean a narrow place which cannot be cleaned by the floor nozzle 11. Furthermore, the small-size nozzle storage recess part 26 can secure a space by suppressing the increase in the height of the floor nozzle 10, the height dimension of the floor nozzle 11 with the small-size nozzle mounted thereon can be suppressed, and the floor nozzle 11 can be inserted into a place with a low height to clean it.
