PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant detection device for a vehicle capable of resetting an initial value efficiently at the exchange time of an expansion control unit (ECU). SOLUTION: Storage means 2a-2d for storing the initial value are provided on load sensors 10a-10d, and the storage means 2a-2d are allowed to store the initial values of the load sensors 10a-10d. When exchanging the expansion control unit 20, a resetting means is operated, and the initial values stored in the storage means 2a-2d are transmitted to the expansion control unit 20, and the initial values are stored in storage parts 1a-1d of the expansion control unit 20, to thereby reset the initial values.
