The internal combustion engine has a crankcase, a cylinder head, a cylinder head cover with integral oil separator and an induction pipe (20) with a connecting flange attached to a flange on the cylinder head. A hollow chamber separate from a fresh air channel in the induction pipe is formed on the induction pipe near its connecting flange and connected to the crankcase and a port (30) in the induction pipe. The cylinder head cover has further ports connected to the oil separator's inlet and outlet so that blow-by gas flows from the crankcase via the hollow chamber and oil separator into the clean air path of the internal combustion engine.
