PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for controlling identification of a caller using voice information are provided to record voice information of a caller in advance to allow a callee to previously recognize who is a caller and what his/her call is about. CONSTITUTION: A callee sets a service for identifying a caller(301). A caller identification service registration is updated in an information center of a mobile communication system(302). When a call is received from a caller(303), caller identification information is requested from the caller(304). When the caller responds to the request(305), corresponding response data is processed and stored(306). The stored content is transferred to a terminal of the callee(307).
