PURPOSE: A clock synchronization method for synchronous communication of a modem to operate components of a transmitting side and a receiving side by an unique network synchronization clock within a system and a synchronous transmission/reception apparatus using the same are provided to perform the real-time communication and prevent data loss due to an under-run phenomenon by preventing a data delay phenomenon. CONSTITUTION: The same clock is supplied to an encoding/decoding unit(11) and a modem(12) for encoding and decoding transmission data. The modem encodes the transmission data according to the clock and transmits the encoded data through a PSTN(20). The clock is extracted from the encoded data received through the PSTN. The same clock is supplied to an encoding/decoding unit(31) and a modem(32) by using the extracted clock.
