METHOD OF ANALYZING PHYSIOLOGICAL FUNCTION OF TARGET SUBSTANCE

A method of analyzing the physiological function of a target substance by inactivating the physiological function of the target substance which comprises: (a) the step of binding an optically active compound represented by the following formula (I): wherein Q is a group for binding this compound to the target substance; to the target substance to thereby form a complex containing the target substance and the optically active compound; and (b) t he step of irradiating the obtained complex with light to thereby inactivate th e function of the target substance to which the optically active compound has been bound, or inactivate the function of the target substance at the site t o which the optically active compound has been bound.
