An information processing device and method, program recording medium, program, and imaging device for simply and flexibly setting different processings for different managed contents. An entry i of a content managing file is composed of the pointer to ~content i~ which is information indicati ng the position of the content i recorded on a recording medium (2), recording date, update date, attribute information including protect information, thumbnail of the content i, text information, a reproduction start script (8 1) that starts before reproduction start of the content i when an instruction t o reproduce the content i is issued according to the operation input by the us er received through an operation unit, and a reproduction end script (82) that starts when the reproduction of the content i is ended. The invention can be applied to an imaging device for recording data on the image of an object obtained by imaging the object on a recording medium.
