<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct type fuel cell displaying a high output and a high energy capacity since high concentration fuel can be used, and having excellent durability, and to provide a high polymer electrolyte material, a high polymer electrolyte membrane, and a membrane electrode complex used in it. <P>SOLUTION: The feature of this high polymer electrolyte is that its proton conductivity obtained immediately after dipping it in a methanol solution and taking it out from the solution does not substantially deteriorate even if the concentration of the methanol solution increases, and that its methanol permeability substantially and linearly increases if the concentration of the methanol solution increases, or substantially increases by drawing a curve projecting upward. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
