PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversibly thermosensitive coloring composition and a reversibly thermosensitive recording medium which have stably coloring and discharging properties and can deal with rapid erasure. SOLUTION: In a reversibly thermosensitive coloring composition using a coloring reaction between an electron-donative coloring compound and an electron-receptive compound, a carboxylic acid compound expressed by formula is used as the electron-receptive compound. In the formula, X is a divalent group with at least one of hetero atoms, R1 is a hydrocarbon group which can have a substituent, and R2 is an aliphatic hydrocarbon group having a main chain with the number of carbon atoms of 6 of less which can have a directly connecting hand or a substituent. These substituents are a hydroxyl group, a halogen atom or an alkoxy group. |
