<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively detect low S/N targets performing circling motion without increasing the number of erroneously detected targets in a target detection device fitted to a radar installation, . <P>SOLUTION: A signal received by the radar is divided into two systems, one is inputted into a threshold detector 11, and its threshold value Th is so controlled that the value of the number of erroneous targets may always be within a predetermined range and target signals are detected. The other is inputted into a low threshold detector 12, and detection is performed using a low threshold value so as to detect even a target signal of a low S/N. A target signal detected here undergoes transformation of transforming a point into peripheries by periphery transformation apparatuses 19-1 to 19-N in an X-Y rectangular coordinate system, and a data train which forms a periphery is detected as a circling target in periphery extraction apparatuses 21-1 to 21-N, and it is combined with the output of the threshold detector 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
