<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile direction determining method for detecting the movement of an apparatus itself (case) in upper, horizontal and diagonal directions in a space, which is different from a conventional portable video game machine, and also to provide an electronic apparatus such as a game machine using the method. <P>SOLUTION: First and second direction switches having a rotor to be reciprocatively moved are arranged in an orthogonal direction. When the reciprocative movement of the rotor is detected by one of the direction switches, it is determined that the case is moved toward one of a pair of detecting parts for detection, which is abutted on the rotor. When abutment to the rotor is detected in one of the switches and also detected by the detecting part of the direction switch other than the direction switch which performs detection, it is determined that the case is moved in an intermediate direction between a direction where the detecting part without detection in the first direction switch is arranged and a direction where the detecting part without detection in the second direction switch is arranged. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
