<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal wood club with which a hand holding a grip does not get numbed even when foozling a golf ball and the golf ball is accurately hit far in a desired direction. <P>SOLUTION: The metal wood club is constituted such that one, two or more recessed parts with bottoms are formed in an area including a horizontal reference line (A) for which a straight line extended through a head centroid (CG) in the direction of the line of an intended play is projected on a vertical projection plane or an area near the horizontal reference line at the head back surface part of a hollow club head (10).
