PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current limiting circuit which is able to improve the transmission efficiency of electric power by using a relatively simple circuit structure, and reduce the cost of the circuit without the need for an element such as a thermistor depending on its properties, and a complex control circuit such as a thyristor. SOLUTION: A rush current limiting circuit 30 has a circuit structure, where the capacity of inrush current flowing immediately after DC voltage has been applied is limited by a potential difference between a gate electrode (G) and a drain electrode (D) of an electric field effect transistor FET1. It is possible to eliminate the need for using a large rating for a resistor R3, set a partial pressure ratio between resiststors R1 and R2 dividing the DC voltage applied between an input terminals 1 and 2 which determine the potential difference between the gate electrode (G) and the drain electrode (D) of the electric field effect transistor FET1, so as not to limit the capacity of the current flowing through a load circuit 2 under a steady state, and to avoid the decrease of the transmission efficiency of the electric power transmitted to the load circuit 2. |
