PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily edit recorded moving picture data in a small recording apparatus, a reproducing apparatus or a recording/reproducing apparatus. SOLUTION: The moving picture data editing apparatus is provided with: a display part 1 for displaying moving picture data; a data storage part 3 for storing the moving picture data, an operation part 4 instructing an operation related to the reproduction of the moving picture data stored in the data storage part 3; and a picture reproducing part 2 for controlling the reproduction and editing of the moving picture data stored in the data storage part 3. An arbitrary key arranged in the operation part 4 is provided with an operation function related to the reproduction of the moving picture data and an operation function related to the editing of the moving picture data. The function of the operation part 4 is changed from the operation function related to the reproduction to the operation function related to the editing. Consequently, the moving picture data stored in the data storage part 3 are edited in a form where only a necessary part can be reproduced in the operation part 4. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
