PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal processing apparatus capable of incorporating a video signal from an external diagnosis apparatus and performing a composite processing for the video signals with an endoscopic image, and then outputting the video image in a video signal form capable of digital recording. SOLUTION: Video signals from the solid-state image pickup element of an electronic endoscope and video signals from the external diagnosis apparatus are inputted into a video image processing means 13 through a first and a second video signal input means 11, 12, respectively; the inputted signals are subjected to A/D conversion by the means 13 and are temporarily stored in first and second image memories 32, 43; and the numbers of pixels of the video signals are converted by first and second pixel converting means 33, 44. After that, image composition is performed by an image composite means 35, the image is outputted by analog video signals to a monitor to enable displaying the composite image, and the image is compressed to output the digital video signals to a digital video recording means etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
