PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of an external DC power supply for supplying power for melting snow and prevent an accident on the occurrence of a bad string. SOLUTION: In a photovoltaic power generation system with a snow melting function which has a solar battery array constituted of a plurality of parallelly connected strings 1a, 1b, each of which is composed of a plurality of serially connected solar battery modules, and which melts snow on the surfaces of the solar battery modules by allowing current to flow into the solar battery array from an external DC power supply 4, thereby generating power, current switches 5a, 5b that can be opened and closed individually are installed for strings 1a, 1b respectively and a controller 7 is installed to control the switching operation of the current switches 5a, 5b individually and current is allowed to flow in one string after another to melt snow. |
