PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator controller capable of resuming operation of an elevator by returning to original operation control program when the elevator cannot be normally operated by new operation control program. SOLUTION: This elevator controller is provided with a program memory 4 having a program evacuation region 44 storing old operation control program and a program updating region 43 storing the new operation control program, an address change circuit 6, a reset signal generation circuit 7, and a CPU 3. The CPU 3 performs the old operation control program allocated to a head address of the program memory 4, transfers the new operation control program transferred from an external program transfer device 2 into the program updating region 43 when there is a rewrite demand of program, transfers the old operation control program allocated to the head address into the program evacuation region 44, starts rewrite program after suspending operation of the elevator, and performs the rewrite program allocated to the head address to start the new operation control program.
