PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit of an elevator door for reducing the height dimension of a door unit with a simple structure for compact configuration. SOLUTION: A door rail 9 is mounted to a header case 8 for supporting the upper section of the elevator door 3, the elevator door 3 is suspended by the door rail 9 so that it can travel along the longitudinal direction of the door rail 9, a thin outer rotor type motor 25 and a tension pulley, where a rotor 33 has a pulley section 35, are provided at the gap between the header case 8 and the door rail 9, a timing belt 12 is bridged between the pulley section 35 of the rotor 33 in the motor 25 and the tension pulley, and the timing belt 12 is allowed to orbit by the rotation of the rotor 33 and the elevator door 3 is moved along the door rail 9.
