PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder for detecting the state of a delivery tray. SOLUTION: A multistage delivery tray, where a plurality of tray boards 21-24 are slidably assembled in a delivery direction one another, is fitted to a print body, where a print head for forming images on recording paper is fitted, retractably, and the retracted state of the delivery tray is detected by an angle sensor 33 as a delivery tray state detection means. When the delivery tray is detected to be in a retracted state by the angle sensor 33, printing is stopped. When the delivery tray is in an extended state, printing is made.
