PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing metal powder in which inclusions such as refractories and oxides are reduced. SOLUTION: In the method of producing metal powder, after the falling of a melting raw material, energizing is stopped to float up and flocculate refractories and oxides in the molten metal, and the molten metal in accordance with the diameter of the molten metal face is made to remain in a melting furnace. Further, the remaining amount of the molten metal in accordance with the diameter of the molten metal face is controlled to the range of (H×0.214)mm to (H×0.214+20)mm; wherein H is the diameter (mm) of the molten metal face.
