The parking aid for a motorist in a private car (1) has a data carrier (2) fastened to the passenger side of the windscreen. It sends a signal to monitoring circuits (4) in a mobile kiosk (3), with a video display (5) adjacent to the parking bay accommodating the car. The kiosk is in communication with a GPS (Global Positioning System) satellite (GPS). The kiosk has a slit to receive a chip-card or smart card (7). It also has a slit to receive banknotes for paying parking fees or fines.
