PURPOSE: A robot for polishing a floor is provided to offer convenience to a user by automatically rotating and changing a dirty surface of a dust into a clean surface. CONSTITUTION: A robot for polishing a floor is composed of two proximity sensors(8,10) for detecting front obstacles, infrared emitting sensors(12,14) for emitting infrared rays to detect obstacles(108), infrared receiving sensors(16,18) for receiving reflected infrared rays, a microprocessor(104), a driving motor drive(102) receiving a signal from the microprocessor and driving a wheel driving motor(100), driving wheels(4,6) connected to the wheel driving motor, and a duster driving motor(20) for rotating a duster. The microprocessor computes and processes signals received from the proximity sensors and light receiving sensors, and controls the driving motor drive to avoid the obstacles.
