GAINLEVELED WIDE-BAND ERBIUM-DOPED OPTICAL FIBER AMPLIFIER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gainleveled wide-band erbium-doped optical fiber amplifier which achieves low cost and simple structure.

SOLUTION: The wide-band erbium-doped optical fiber amplifier has first and second amplifiers having parallel structures and amplifies the first and second band light signals. The first amplifier 280 has a first erbium-doped optical fiber 251 for amplifying a first (C)-band optical signal through excitation by a first pumping light 241, and a filter 270 for gain leveling the amplified first band optical signal, and outputs a reflected light generated by a filter 270 to the second amplifier 223. The second amplifier 223 has a second erbium-doped optical fiber 252 for amplifying a second (L)-band optical signal by the excitation by a reflected light from the filter 270 and a second pumping light 242.
