PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To offer a low-noise and low-vibration permanent magnet synchronous motor by effectively reducing a cogging torque. SOLUTION: In the permanent magnet synchronous motor which has a rotor of permanent magnet embedded type of such a structure that a permanent magnet 3 is buried in the rotor 2 that is a laminate of sheetlike electromagnetic steel plates, being the permanent magnet synchronous motor where the number of poles of the rotor 2 is Pr and the number of slots of a stator 1 is Ns, the angle m from a slit 4 for short circuit of magnetic flux to the tip of a slit 4 is m=n×(360/2a)degree(n is an integer).
