PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a socket for inspecting a display panel capable of adjusting the contact position of a contact with an electrode terminal on a display panel side with higher accuracy and improving the operability of adjustment operation. SOLUTION: A socket 10 for inspecting the display panel has an adjustment mechanism 21 capable of adjusting the contact position of the contact with the electrode terminal. The adjustment mechanism 21 has an alignment direction adjusting means which can adjust the contact position in the alignment direction of the contact by translating a TAB tape 37 in the alignment direction of the electrode terminal and a rotating direction adjusting means which can adjust the contact position of the contact in the rotating direction by rotating the TAB tape 37. The alignment direction adjusting means is provided with a slider 26 in which the TAB tape 37 is housed on an upper side freely slidably in the alignment direction and is provided with a spring 33 for energizing the slider 26 to one direction of the alignment direction. Further, the means is provided with a slider position adjusting screw 34 which slides the slider 26 to the other direction of the direction opposite to the one direction by overcoming the energizing force of the spring 33 when operated from the side disposed with the display panel.
