PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate a true refracting power and a lens form factor and measure a form of a lens to be measured at the same time in a lens meter for measuring a rear side refracting power of the lens to be measured. SOLUTION: The lens meter at a position displaced from an optical axis of equipment equipped with a projection system designed to enter a luminous flux from a diagonal direction of the optical axis to the lens to be measured guides a transmitted luminous flux from there to a light-receiving element. A focal length (refracting power) and the lens form factor of the lens to be measured is calculated from a signal from the light-receiving element. The lens form factor consists of radius of curvature of a front face, thickness and a refractive index of the lens to be measured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
