PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten linearity of a magnetic flux density to a rotational angle in a rotational angle detection device having a widened detection angle range with the aim of controlling low the magnetic flux density in a prescribed rotational angle. SOLUTION: An external magnetic body 11 for sending a part of a magnetic flux generated from a magnet 5 when the rotational angle of a rotor 1 is near 70°is provided on a fixing member on the circumference of the rotor 1. Hereby, the magnetic flux passing through a Hall IC 7 can be reduced when the rotational angle is around 70°, and a changing characteristic of the magnetic flux can be linearized. Namely, while keeping a detection rotational range wide, the changing characteristic of the magnetic flux density passing through the Hall IC 7 can be approximately linearized.
